I might as well name this blog post ‘Clean Eating try #1,265,000’ honestly because I am your typical diet rollercoaster rider. I tried so many times, so many different meal plans and the longest I have ever stuck to one was about 7 months.

The reason why I don’t stick to these long term is honestly because I just lose track! I start out buying groceries on the reg as I am supposed to and preparing all the meals in advance and whatnot and then out of nowhere – whoop! – got a meeting on one evening, friends wanting to meet up for coffee on another, another meeting on a third evening and you get the jist! On top of having a full-time job, I honestly just do not find the time to keep track with it!
Also, another problem that I kept having is that most of the clean eating foods that I was making were just sort of bland. No matter how many spices and different ways that I tried to make the food more lively, there is only so much that I can do about some steamed broccoli and a chicken breast.
Oh and don’t even get me started on the cost of groceries.

However, I decided that I’ll give it one more try and try to make it more fun! To ease myself into it, I decided to do the Buzzfeed 2 week Clean Eating Challenge. Now, I know that Buzzfeed is probably not the best place to be taking dietary tips from but I just cannot get over how fool-proof they’ve made this thing! They literally did all the annoying prep work for you, all you have to do is just go buy the groceries from the list they gave you and make the food! For someone as overwhelmed by clean eating as I am, this is a dream.
I know the groceries will be on the more expensive side, especially that in a recent news report they mentioned prices going even higher in 2016, but I justified it to myself that for every dollar spent on healthy groceries, I will spend a dollar less on eating, drinking out (goodbye Bridghead coffee).

As cliché as it is to start eating healthy in a New Year, I hope you guys stick with me throughout this progress! In case any of you are interested in finding out in how much I’ve spent in total on groceries, how good the food tasted and how I felt overall, I will post an update at the end of every week. Let’s do this!
