New beginnings

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you had a very fun and safe New Year’s Eve. Mine was spent with a really good friend and included partaking in the Parliament Hill festivities here in Ottawa. It was nice to finally do a countdown outside and see fireworks and all that jazz.

With January upon us now, I’m sure most of you have made resolutions. I’m not someone who has ever believed in resolutions but I do like to set goals for myself. And in the last few years I’ve always made myself a ‘to-do’ list of things I wish to accomplish by the end of the current year. So I thought I’d share this year’s list with you. As you’ll see, my list consists of stuff that’s actually practical/doable. I never made a resolution or a goal that was ‘eat clean’ or ‘exercise more’ because I feel like those types of goals are usually not motivating at all (for me personally) and if I want to be healthy, I’ll just decide to be healthy. I don’t need the extra pressure in my brain that tells me IT IS JANUARY FIRST NO MORE JUNK FOOD and then WHAT ARE YOU DOING IT’S ONLY JANUARY 10 AND YOU’VE ALREADY HAD 3 PIZZAS later on to make me feel guilty. I ain’t about that negativity fam.

I know these may seem totally random to a stranger but to me these are the things that I’ve been meaning to do for a while now and putting them into a list and  giving myself a deadline (a whole year!!) to do them is a big motivational factor for me!

What are some of the things on your list?
