Oh hey, guess what finally came in the mail?!

Ok fine, it was delivered like two weeks ago but I haven’t gotten the chance to take pictures of the order, etc. etc. Also, do you guys realize what kind of self restraint it takes to have brand new makeup sitting on top of your desk for so long and not use it even ONCE?! You should all be proud of me.

So I didn’t order that much, mainly because it was free shipping on all orders so my logic was: “Ok Mari you can calm down now and just get the sale stuff and try it out.” I got two lip/cheek sets (which I’m just realizing now are not available on their website anymore?) and a blush. The brush was a free sample. Which to be honest I don’t understand how it falls under the sample category but I won’t complain, I just got a free Tarte brush!

Left to right: Shimmering Peach, Shimmering Poppy (maracuja blush) and Daygleam highlighter. You can see the marks I left in them from swatching. Can we just talk about my emotions as I was swatching these for the first time? I have never in my life touched a blush so buttery and velvety. It’s not creamy, it literally feels like touching butter. It was the most magnificent sensation I have ever experienced with makeup. I cannot wait to actually wear these on my face, even though all 3 are shimmery. I’ve decided to give shimmer a try in 2017. Goodbye mattes. Just kidding, I still love you, please don’t ever leave me.

Top to bottom: shimmering peach, shimmering poppy, daygleam. These colours are so soft and beautiful! They do have quite a bit of shimmer that isn’t too obvious in this picture but as I was walking around my room, a ray of sunshine hit my arm and I looked like Edward Cullen (the dude from Twilight, remember?). The highlight seems glorious, I just wanna do a full glam look right now to be honest.

The two lip products I got are the Lip Surgence lip butter in Buff and the Park Avenue Princess edition of the lipgloss. I have to say I was disappointed with the colour of the lipgloss as it looked way more pink online than it does in real life. The true shade of the gloss is a brownish nude, nowhere near pink. It’s also super sticky, or maybe that’s just because I haven’t worn lipgloss since high school. I’ll have to try it out over a lipstick I own and we’ll see how I feel about it. The lip butter is so smooth and feels moisturizing. We’ll have to see how the brownish nude looks on my lips! Maybe I’ll even put Park Avenue Princess over it!? Decisions, decisions.

The bottom two are the lip gloss and the lip butter. At least they match with the colour palette of the rest of the products I got!
Overall, it’s an exciting purchase – especially the cheek products. I honestly can’t wait to do my makeup again just to have an excuse to try out their buttery consistence again! Also how effing CUTE is their packaging! I had a hard time throwing out the box and the tissue paper that the order came in.
