Lion Babe – Begin

I don’t wanna sound obnoxious but I just wanna say that I totally called it when almost 2 years  ago I discovered these guys said that they were gonna hit it big. I was so happy to have discovered their music and seeing their first album come out just makes me so happy. When I saw them perform at Osheaga last summer, my summer was made. Jillian is just as gorgeous in real life as she is in pictures, not to mention an amazing performer and Lucas just oozes this coolness that makes you want to be his BFF. I love their sound so much, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Majid Jordan – Majid Jordan

I’m not even gonna try to pretend like Drake isn’t the only reason I gave these guys a listen. I’m sorry Majid Jordan, but at the same time, I’m NOT sorry because that was your exact intention by teaming up with him, wasn’t it? I really dig their sound though, it’s like a mix of dance and R&B music, which sounds really weird but it works!

Kehlani – You Should Be Here

I forget how I found out about Kehlani…It was fairly recently that I checked her music out. I probably read about her on some blog or something…It really bothers me that I can’t remember how I know about her. I love this album though, it reminds me of late 90’s early 00’s R&B. It’s the kinda music that just makes you feel some type of way. Also, I just found out that Zayn Malik did a collab with her on his new album and I’m not sure how I feel about this. I mean I guess I get it because he’s also clearly trying so hard to achieve this sexy R&B-ish sound but I just have a feeling that now all of Zayn’s teeny bop fans are gonna go crazy about her and her fandom will just turn her music to shit.

11:11 – 11:11 (EP)

Toronto’s done it again folks. 11:11 flawlessly executes that trap/R&B sound that seems to be so popular lately. Definitely looking forward to his next projects.
