Interior Design Inspo

I’ve been considering doing some major redecorating at my place so I’ve been spending unreasonable hours on Pinterest, blogs and online furniture stores to figure out what I like. I’m sort of all over the place with the interior styles that I like but I think the one that I’m the most attracted to is mid-century modern because it seems to be the most realistic for my kind of living (too lazy to clean all the time, likes plants and has a grey cat who sheds like a maniac). But let’s just say that on a daily basis, I fantasize about Joanna Gaines, Megan Batoon and Alaina Kaczmarski coming over and decorating my house together, mixing all of their beautiful styles because I am lowkey obsessed with them all, especially Alaina’s house during Christmas time. Her house is literally #goals and I wish I could just move in and pet her dogs all the time.
Sorry Alaina, I promise I’m not some creepy stalker.

On that note, here’s some pictures that I’m inspired by!

Seeing as I gushed so much about Alaina (seriously though, follow her on instagram!) It only makes sense to show you some of my favourite pictures of her place. I just can’t get over how her place looks so effortlessly flawless.

Bedroom inspo. I really, really want a white dresser with gold hardware and like raw-looking wood legs. And I’ve been on the hunt for a grey headboard, which for some reason, to me, looks like one of the most grown-up furniture pieces to buy. I also want to try and incorporate more plants in my life but if I’m being real with myself, they are most likely going to be fake because I don’t know how to keep greenery alive. Can you also tell I like white? Lots of white.

The room that I’m the most confused about is the living room. I LOVE neutral colours but at the same time, I also love pops of colour and I think a cool green or blue velvet couch could look so awesome if styled right. I also love minimal decor pieces that make the room look empty but clean and breathable, but at the same time, I want to cover every surface of the room in books I collected over time. And don’t even get me started on the coffee table situation! Sigh.

What do you guys think?! Also, what are your favourite instagram accounts to follow for interior design? Let me know in the comments below! My insta feed is in dire need of some refreshing.

Spring Outfit Goals

Spring is my favourite season because it’s sunny enough to not have to wear my chunky winter boots and coat but just chilly enough to casually rock a nice, open, camel coat. I should mention two things: 1: Spring in Canada is still hella cold and so that’s why you don’t see cute dresses and skirts here and 2: Let’s be real – I would wear these outfits in the middle of summer too because I am far from a “cute dress” girl.

Caution: Excessive amounts of neutral colours, skinny jeans and coats ahead. If you don’t like white, black, grey and beige – proceed slowly.

jeansThis is literally an outfit I would wear every single day of my life if people wouldn’t judge me for wearing the same clothes 365 days in a year over the next 60 years.
I own those shoes, I own that white shirt, I own a similar leather jacket, I’m just still trying to find the perfect pair of light wash jeans. Oh and that purse! …and those sunglasses.

teddy coatI bought a pair of these Gucci knockoff slip-ons last summer and they literally changed my entire wardrobe. They instantaneously make any outfit I wear super cool, which is awesome because I’m otherwise a total loser.
My goal this year is to try and rock a teddy coat and not look like I’m trying too hard.

brown sweater
Give me a pair of skinny jeans, oversized sweater, cool shades, cross body purse and loafers any day baby! #IdreamofGuccishoes

camel coat

I’ve literally waited SIX MONTHS to be able to wear ballet flats outside again and not have to change shoes once I get to work! Look at those shades  too. Those are some grown-up shades right there. I need a pair like that so that I can look like a sophisticated woman that I certainly am not.

bralette
Can you tell I love black? Cause I really love black. I mean, I don’t care what Anna Wintour says, all black outfits are the shit and nothing she says about colours will change my mind otherwise. Also lol at everyone who’s ever told me that bras are comfortable. Do yourself a favour and switch to bralettes. You’re welcome.

black jeans
Look at this fabulous all black outfit! And that fabulous coat! And that fabulous bag!

Honourable mention:

denim sherpa1denim sherpa3denim sherpa2
Shoutout to the comeback of the sherpa-lined denim jacket. Also NOT shoutout to me for not taking my dad’s 30 year-old, vintage jacket when I saw it two years ago (it’s on a different continent so I can’t just go over and grab it).
Hey Levi’s please do me a solid and release a jacket with a thick, fluffy and WHITE lining…this yellowish off-white thing you currently have in store is not working for me.
